Plot:

Township Heights was touted as a model community, and players signed up for the ARG by applying to become residents of the town. The game began when players received a frantic phone call from Robert Ridge, a former employee of the mayor's office who explained that things had been changing since the new mayor took office, and warned players to stay away from Township Heights. Just before the line went dead, several loud bangs that may have been gunshots or explosions could be heard. When the game officially started on January 14th, players learned that Robert Ridge had died in an "accidental" gas explosion.

The Township Heights website offered players an opportunity to explore some of the town's businesses as well as to interact with several prominent residents. Among those residents was Ms. Kravits, the official town blogger, and Andy Pence, the mayor. Township Heights' biggest corporate entity was Developmentis Corporation, which sponsored the town's new aquatic center and developed the town's biometric parking meters.

By working secretly with Jay Blankenburg, players were able to uncover the secret connections between Mayor Andy Pence and Developmentis. After players helped hack into Developmentis Corp.'s secure portal, they learned that Developmentis was attempting to create human/alien hybrid DNA. The mayor resigned in disgrace and was replaced by Jay Blankenburg.
